Consonant Blend Flashcards

What is a Consonant Blend?

A consonant blend is a team of two consonant letters working together. Both letter sounds are heard in sounding out the word.

Example—the b and l are blended together when sounding out the word--black. ( black. blame. blank. blast. bleed. blend. blind. block. bloom. Blow.

Examples of words with consonant blends are grain, grass, brick, blouse and glass.
