What are Contractions?
Contractions are shortened forms of a words (or group of words) that omits certain letters or sounds. In most contractions, an apostrophe represents the missing letters. The most common contractions are made up of verbs, auxiliaries, or modals attached to other words.
Examples:
1. I am = I'm
2. she is = she's
3. they are = they're
4. should not = shouldn't
5. will not = won't
